Richard and Lois Evans - Lead Chaplains

Richard has over 20 years experience of working in a business environment as a senior project manager in the IT sector. In 2018, he changed career and began working full time as a Funeral Officiant supporting families who have lost a loved one, while also developing and launching Bristol Chaplaincy. He is both a city centre chaplain and also chaplain to the Bristol Bears Rugby Club. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time at the gym, cycling and walking Bella the dog.

Lois has over 20 years experience of working as a life coach, helping people to move forward in their lives. She has supported and cared for many people in her local community, including adults, young people, and previously ex-offenders. After developing and launching Bristol Chaplaincy, Lois now works as a city centre chaplain. Lois enjoys exercising and is a member of a local Kettlebell club in Portishead.

Richard and Lois are married and have 5 children, ranging from 12 to 23 years old.


Debs Munn - Community Chaplain (Easton)

Debs Munn is community chaplain at Easton Christian Family Centre in Easton, Bristol. In her role, Debs seeks to be a listening presence in the community.

Debs has spent most of her working life with those who find themselves at the edges of life. She has been drawn to chaplaincy because she believes there is transformative power in listening, being with, asking questions and journeying alongside other people.

Debs has worked and studied internationally and completed her theological training at Regent College in Vancouver, Canada. She is married to Ryan and has three young children.


Ralph Mann - Workplace Chaplain (Temple Quay)

Ralph is a visual recorder and illustrator with over a decade of expertise in digital visual communication and creative comms. 

He spent a day a week in 2022 exploring Business Chaplaincy with The Upper Reaches Prayer Barge in Temple Quay www.urtq.org. Having also just concluded a course in Pioneer Mission he continues to explore how the deep listening, clear communication and creative skills from his corporate work can find application in Chaplaincy; looking at new ways of being with people, where they are at in their workplaces and everyday lives.

Ralph is also interested in transformation and working with people at the edges of society having formerly founded and run a charity in the prison sector, mentoring offenders and ex-offenders to find not only new creativity, but a new life.

Ralph is married with two children and is passionate about VW Camper Vans and Rock Music


Victor Tettmar - Workplace Chaplain (University of Law and Temple Quay)

Victor has a heart for those working in the offices and businesses located in Temple Quarter. He is a Trustee of the Upper Reaches Prayer Barge by the Eye Building and Victoria Bridge in Temple Quay and is happiest when encouraging individuals and organisations to flourish. He is a lawyer by training and developed leadership skills as Managing Partner of a Commercial Law Firm and as Warden of Redland Church. He is part of the Chaplaincy team for a leading educational organisation in Temple Quarter and is often on the Prayer Barge listening to and praying for people. Victor is married to Amanda, and they have 3 daughters and 4 granddaughters. When not in Temple Quay Victor can be found sailing or cycling in the UK and beyond !


David Mitchell - Workplace Chaplain (University of Law)

David trained at Nottingham Uni and Guildford College of Law and worked in traditional high street law firms as a general practitioner but came to specialise in litigation and Family Law.  He also became involved in counselling and mediation. Since retiring David has been a volunteer at the charity ‘Support Through Court’ in Bristol and also as a chaplain in the university of law.


Gwynneth Pugh-Jones - Crown Courts Chaplain

Gwynneth has a rich work history from being a nurse to working with various charities. She highly values working in a team to find opportunities to offer hope to difficult situations. She has enhanced her learning by continuing to train in listening and counselling skills. Gwynneth is trauma informed with a keen interest in the court system, having supported people through challenging and difficult cases. 
Gwynneth enjoys spending time with people from all walks of life and loves to listen, pray, encourage and is skilled at ensuring that people have the space to feel heard, no matter what they are facing.  
Gwynneth came to the city as a student and after meeting her husband in a Christian community, has never left. Together they have four children and have fostered in the past. She is a keen musician, baker and enjoys a good book.
