Over the last 12 months Bristol Chaplaincy has grown significantly and we now have a team of 8 volunteer chaplains working in many different settings -

Chaplaincy is a profession that provides free, confidential and unconditional support to adults of any faith or none at all. We recognise that everyone has physical, emotional and spiritual needs and chaplains are motivated by their Christian faith to offer compassionate and caring support to anyone who needs it. Chaplains offer a non-judgmental and a confidential listening ear to the people they meet.
During the first half of 2023 our team of chaplains have provided support to over 100 different people who were all facing different challenges in their lives.
Sadly, there are many 100s more people in Bristol that would benefit from the support that Bristol Chaplaincy could give them. The support we can offer is limited by the generous gift of the time given by our volunteers.
Bristol Chaplaincy is excited to be launching a fundraising campaign to raise £35,000 to enable it to recruit a full time lead chaplain.
A full time lead chaplain would enable the project to take advantage of a number of new opportunities to expand and grow. The opportunities are endless and here are just a few things that would be established by a full-time lead chaplain:
Establish two new Chaplaincy Hubs located in College Green and in the middle of the Shopping District.
Chaplaincy support to the vibrant and active ‘Arts Community’ in Bristol
Expansion of workplace chaplaincy services, supporting more businesses in the city.
Further development and expansion of the chaplaincy service at the Crown Courts.
Recruitment and training of new volunteer chaplains.
We envisage the required funding coming from a variety of different places, including grants, donations, sponsored events, partnerships and many more.
